Online dating/Facebook
In previous classes we discussed online dating and Facebook.
Online dating has become very familiar and popular today. There are numerous
websites you can go on to find a significant other, Facebook in which can be a
website to do so because there are profile pages which indicate your personal
self. I was never the one to look at online dating dangerous as a little girl
because I met my first boyfriend online; on Myspace. Myspace was a website
similar to Facebook because in had profile pages and friends and you had the
ability to write on others wall. Which you can do on Facebook too and this is a
defining quality of a social network site. My experience with online dating was
actually a great one, although my boyfriend was a complete jerk, which I found
out years later. We shared mutual friends and had actually seen each other
before that’s why I wasn’t completely hesitant on getting to know him. Now that
I’m older I actually see the risk of meeting people online and actually dating
someone online. Although there can be good outcomes of the situation just like
the one showed to us in lab class. The short film shows that it is possible to
find true love online with a complete stranger and actually being happy with
that person for the rest of your life.
Now to talk more about Facebook and Facebook
relationships, you can identity when people are going through break ups and
also those who are maintain a healthy relationship. This is because people
update their status all the time to let the whole world in on their business. This
can be very unhealthy and continue relationship problems.
Another topic we discussed was Facebook and college
students. I disagree with that the more you’re on Facebook the lesser of your self-esteem,
because I personally use Facebook as a way to keep in contact with my close
friends and family members back at home. Being that I’m miles away from my
loved ones, this is my way of still being able to keep in touch and seeing
them. Facebook can also be annoying because of the annoying post people share every
day, this particularly makes me not want to use my Facebook. Over-all the way
you go about social networking sites determines what you will get out of them
and determines negatives and positives.
