Deception

Lies, Bluffs, Deceiving, telling whoever what they want to hear... All these fall under Deception. Its a pretty easy definition to define. The average person lies several times a day, they can lie about big things such as being in a relationship and telling their significant other I never cheated on you, ive always been faithful to you. Or it can be something so small such as white lies like yes that outfit looks fine, you look great and so on. Participating in deception can be as easy as just nodding your head to someone when you're not even listening to a word they are saying. Everyone participates in deception each and everyday, because I know everyone tells themselves what they want to hear inside their heads, and there's nothing wrong with that we just use it as a self-esteem booster to make ourselves feel better about something. These things can occur not in just face to face deception but also in online deception. Deception can occur in many different ways but all have the same meaning. The lies and false statements we tell or are told are intended to gain some sort of advantage. This advantage we are trying to achieve can be classified in some ways as an motivation to oneself, it could be that we want to avoid punishment for something we know we did, or to create a sense of power for ourselves to enhance the ego within us all.

Deception sucks but we all have to live with it. And some of us may be better at detecting it as others but it doesn't matter because its still happening, someone's still trying to pull a fast one on you which is a shitty feeling. But at the same time the person who is participating in deception might not want to be doing so, but maybe it has to be done, maybe the lie they tell needs to be told to protect themselves or others. We all have told that one lie we didn't want to tell but we had to. I know everyone has told their parents once or twice about going somewhere and you end up going somewhere else because the real truth on the place you wanted to go they wouldn't have aloud that. Im not saying participating in deception is a good thing and its ok to do because its not and it sucks even more when you get caught in the act, but sometimes lying is just the right thing to do.

Me, personally... yeah I participate in deception just like everyone else does. Do I do it for good reasons? sometimes yes other times no.  I tell people all the time what they want to hear simply because I don't feel like dealing with stupid bullshit. An example is actually taking place in my life right now. Ive went out with a girl a few times this month, she calls them dates I call them hangouts, are they dates? yea definitely are but no way in hell do I tell myself they are dates. and by not calling them dates  makes me feel way better telling myself and her they are just hangouts.  And also because its so easy to do now a days. If your not face to face with someone chances are over the internet or texting they aren't going to catch your bluff. On the other hand was I ever lied to? was I ever told something that I wanted to hear just so id relax? yes to all of the above. And yea it sucks its not fun, Being deceived by people who you think are your friends or family and even significant others  is a hard pill to swallow. But in todays day in age it happens all the time, on every social level. Hell even the media does it to us everyday, our government does it to us as well. Actually The definition of Deception should actually be Government. (that was a joke).

All and all deception is everywhere, some see it more often then others because they choose to or don't choose to. Some people cant live without doing it on a day to day basis, others would rather not do it all but sometimes its just the right thing to do. which makes me think. How many people on here who will write about Deception are going to bullshit some of the things they say... wouldn't that be Deception...?
